November 10: Roots of the Arab-Zionist Conflict
This presentation will provide an overview of the conflict and its root causes. The presentation is informed by insights from settler-colonialist studies and will highlight the similarities and differences between the Arab-Zionist conflict and other conflicts between settlers and natives.
November 17: The Persistence of the Arab-Zionist Conflict
This presentation will discuss the factors that have impeded the resolution of the Arab-Zionist conflict and explore different possible scenarios for the conflict.
About Bassem Hassan
Bassem Hassan has a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Denver. His teaching and research focus on the intersection between international relations, history, and identity politics, with a focus on the Middle East. In 2022 he received the University of Colorado Denver’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences award for Excellence in Promoting Diversity, Equity and Inclusion through Teaching. He is also the recipient of the campus award of the University of Colorado Denver for Excellence in Teaching (2018).
