Early
Christianity: Practices, Beliefs, and Milestones

February 9, 2025

Class Description

This lecture focuses on interpretation of the Bible by early Christians – especially looking at how ‘creative communications’ (the visual art, poetry, sermons, and hymns from those early centuries) give us a dazzling window into early Christian reading and understanding of the Scripture.

About Megan DeVore

Megan DeVore is the Professor of Church History and Early Christian Studies at Colorado Christian University, where she has taught for almost twenty years. She also serves at Denver Seminary, both in the Training and Mentoring Program and as the professor for the Early Christian Theology course. Early Christian identity is endlessly fascinating to her, and she loves both researching and sharing this compelling history with others. She, her husband, and their three children love camping and probably have too many books.
